When we obsess about our problems and the things we lack, that is  what will manifest in our reality. By imagining the possibilities-our positive intentions-clearly, then letting them go and having faith in the benevolence of the Universe, we remove the barriers of our limited thoughts and open the path for wonderful things to come our way.

Prison-house to Playground

It isn't the things that happen to us in our lives that cause us to suffer, it's how we relate to the things that happen to us that causes us to suffer. Do you want to live life as puppet, or become master of the universe? Discover your own power. The universe will then transform from a prison-house to a playground. You will enjoy every moment of your life and gain access to the transcendental as well. As you think so shall you be. Most people change their lifestyles, clothing and food. Some might relocate to an ashram or go away to Himalayas-but pay scant regard to their thoughts which are still focussed on the world. The only thing you need to change is your thoughts. Nothing else. Elevate your thoughts to the spirit and the world will be at your feet. The fringe benefit of spiritual life is material success.
The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways.

Summary of " When Bad Things Happen to Good People"

The author is a rabbi of Jews ( Clergyman) in the USA. When he was young, he had a son who was bright and happy child. The family was a very happy one but suddenly the child was detected for a very strange disease. His hair started falling out after he turned one-year-old and stopped growing. Doctors called this phenomenon 'Progeria'. They told the author that th child would never grow beyond three feet of height, would have no hair on his head or body, would look like a little old man while he was still a child and would die in his early teens.

How does one handle news like that ? Like any other common man, the author felt deeply shocked and questioned God's fairness. He was a good man doing all that a good person is supposed to do. The question ' Why did it happen to him only ?' came to his mind again and again. He started searching for answers to it and the book is result of that search. The boy, of course, died at the age of fourteen as predicted but the thinking of the author reduced the agony of the reality to a great extent and changed his life altogether in the time to come.

The general attitude is the assumption that we get what we deserve and we always try to find reasons for justifying whatever happens to us. At times we also try to establish that the tragedy has happened for our good. While there is no harm in taking this line of thought, the problem with this reasoning is that it does not really help the sufferer or explain his suffering. It is primarily, to defend God, to use words and ideas to transform bad into good and pain into privilege. In a way, we also try to establish that God is the cause of our suffering and also make ourselves feel guilty in addition to the burden of tragedy.

The author has taken altogether different view of the situation. He cannot imagine of a God who can be cruel at any time. He has tried to establish that life consists of good and bad things. And happening of bad things is as much a matter of chance, as those of good things in anybody's life. God does not want bad things to happen but perhaps it is not in his hands. He also does not want bad things to happen as much as we want. Some are caused by bad luck, some are caused by bad people and some are inevitable consequence of our being human and being mortal, living in a world of inflexible natural laws.

The painful things that happen to us are not punishment for our misbehaviour, nor are they in any way part of some grand design on God's part. Because the tragedy is not God's will, we need not feel hurt or betrayed by God when tragedy strikes. Instead, we can turn to Him for help in overcoming it because God is as outraged by the tragedy as we are.
And this is how bad things have a meaning in the lives of good people. It turns them to God all the more. The question we should be asking is NOT " why did this happen to me ?" or "what did I do to deserve this ? ". That is really an unanswerable, pointless question. A better question would be ' Now that this has happened to me, what am I going to do about it ? ".

And this where God comes to our help in the form of a good friend, a good relative, a good idea or courage. God inspires some people to help others who have been hurt by life. In the end, the author concludes that his own tragedy had a great meaning. He believes that his son served God's purpose not by being sick or strange looking, but by facing up so bravely to his illness and to the problems caused by his appearance. His friends and schoolmates were affected by his courage and by the way he managed to live a full life despite limitations.

There was this interview of a writer, an Indian by birth, presently staying in U.K. He was 35 yrs of age and for 35 years he had never stood on his feet, because he never could. Nor had he ever mad use of his hands because he never could use them either. He was born with a disesase which had made his bones so weak that he had to spend all his life on a wheel chair. God had just kept one thing working for him and that was his brain, and he made use of just that one asset and wrote a book, which became a best seller. But despite of his obvious handicap his book displayed a remarkably positive outlook towards life. The interviewer was most amazed by this fact and asked him ,how did he manage to have such a positive outlook towards life.

The man replied, I have no grievance against god, because atleast he gave me a chance to live. There are millions who do not get even this chance . With each passing day my knowledge grows. My intellect grows and with it grows my determination to fight with life.

He with all his difficulties could still make life meaningful because he had lived every moment of it. Life in any form has to be meaningful. It is only we, who fail to realise its importance.

Quotes By Marilyn Monroe

Quote 1. "I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

Quote 2. "Before marriage, a girl has to make love to a man to hold him. After marriage, she has to hold him to make love to him." :) :)

Slow down

One of Gandhi's most illuminating observations reminds us that "there is more to life than increasing its speed". This is great advice for simplyfying your life- infact, slow everything way down for a few moments right here and now. Slowly read these words. Slow your breathing down so that you are aware of each inhalation and exhalation...When you are in car, downshift and relax. Slow down your speech, your inner thoughts, and the frantic pace of everything you do. Take more time to hear others. Notice your inclination to interrupt and then choose to listen instead. Sit down in a mall and just observe how everyone seems in a hurry to get nowhere.
By slowing down, you'll simplify and rejoin the perfect pace at which creation works.

(Source:- Extracts from the Book -Inspiration -by Dr Wayne Dyer)
Nothing happens before its time, so just wait and relax. Your tension won't help it happen before it's time. Rather, it will harm you. So do relax and pray.

Wisdom from "Old Man"

The Old man continued :
"My greatest regret is not listening to myself. I knew I could do great things in my life. I was a very good writer when I was younger; I had even won some literary prizes during my university days. But my mother wanted me to be an accountant. She said that if I didn't listen to her; it would be the mistake of lifetime. Actually, the mistake of my lifetime was not being true to myself and doing what I felt was meant to do. So now- and you should know that the doctors in here tell me that I probably only have a few weeks left- I am so sad at the choice I made. I feel I've wasted my whole life. Eighty-seven years have gone by in a flash. It feels like it was just yesterday that I got married to my bride, Margaret. It feels like just yesterday that I watched my children being born. Now Margaret's dead and my children have gone off to lead lives of their own. Your life will whiz by quicker than you could ever imagine. The days will slip into weeks, the weeks into months and the months into years. You look pretty young now, but watch out- you'll look like me before you know it. Life's like that. So live the life that you are meant to live. Your life is far too important to wait until you are just about to die to wake up. I lived my mother's life when I should have had the wisdom to live my own. I spent my life trying to please others. But where are they now ? On your deathbed, the only person you'll have to answer to is the person you look at in the mirror every morning. You'd better be true to him. I committed the crime of self betrayal. That's what's really going to kill me. Not the cancer ".

Prayer Heals, when it's close & personal

Prayer heals when it's close-up and personal, and there's a study to prove it. It's not just any kind of prayer, but "proximal intercessory prayer", or PIP-when one or more people pray for someone in that person's presence and often with physical contact-that was found by a team of doctors, scientists and religious experts to have remarkable results in healing some patients.A team of medical doctors and scientist led by Indiana University professor of religion Candy Gunther Brown found in the study, conducted in rural Mozambique, that prayer brought highly significant improvements to hearing-impaired participants and significant changes to the visually impaired. Fourteen hard-of-hearing and 11 visually impaired study participants were recruited at meetings of Pentecostal Christian groups in Mozambican villages and towns. They were tested with a handheld audiometer or vision charts, depending on their impairment, before and after they took part in a prayer session.
There was a highly significant imrovement in hearing across 18 ears of 11 subjects and significant visual improvements, says the study which will be published next month in the peer-reviewed Southern Medical Journal. Two of the hard-o-hearing study participants were able to hear sounds 50 decibels lower after the prayer session and three of the visually impaired subjects saw their vision improve from 20/400 or worse to 20/80 or better. The study focussed on the clinincal effects of prayer and did not attempt to explain how or why some participants saw such remarkable improvements. This study shows that in some instances there are measurable effects, that can be demonstrated using clinical studies, said Brown.

a) We are all too preoccupied with things that have no real significance in Life. Conscious endeavour cannot lead a seeker to his spiritual destination. Nor is the lifestyle of a monk assurance of achieving the state of perpetual bliss. The moment mind becomes free of wish, desire or wistfulness, divine consciousness descends.

b) When you feel depressed, you are creating particles of depression around you. Those ions of depressions around you go and stick to the environment. If someone walks into that place, even after you have left, that person for no reason would start feeling depressed. Our body has the capacity to sustain the vibrations of bliss and peace much longer than it does negative emotions.

Sex, Gift From God

Freedom from sex is not repression of sex; it is the understanding of sex. By understanding, one goes beyond it. But that does not mean that you will be angry, against it and antagonistic. You will be blissful. You will bless everybody with the hope that someday, they will go beyond it.
Sex is not a sin. Nobody is ever punished or sent to hell for sex. God has given it to you, you are born with it; you have not created it- like the atom bomb, bayonet, money or politics etc- these are inventions of the ugly human mind. But sex  is a God-given gift . Sex is the very source of creativity.

Why be so Serious

No one takes you seriously when you take yourself too seriously. So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they are busy doing things they  think are important. This is because they are chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to create something that gives you purpose and meaning.

Connecting with Source

The Inner Presence is truly the money-maker. Your thinking is the true source and not the reasoning mind. Your only source is the God Presence within you. If your mind is on the source, the cause, the supply flows freely. If your mind is on the effect, you block the flow. The more impersonal you become regarding where your money seems to originate ( job, salary, commisions, investments, spouse etc..) the more personal you can become in your relationship with the true source of your money, and the closer the relationship to your God-self, the greater the abundance in your life.

Make a Difference

The truth of the matter is that when we begin to feel better, our world will look better. It boils down to the importance of living fully while we have the chance to do so. Living full out. Enjoying every moment, even the less than ideal ones. Your intellect and your heart tell you that the meaning of life is to serve the force that sent you into the world, to make a difference while you walk the planet, to love your family and to reclaim your biggest self. If you can concentrate only on the present, you will be a happy man. Once you connect with some kind of higher purpose and main aim in your life, there will be a corresponding release of passion and energy into your life.

Do Hardwork to mould your thoughts

It is a tragedy that every individual of the world from the age of 5 to 65, constantly struggles for a bright future, but even while leaving the world , most of them remain unsatisfied and unsuccessful. Majority of humanbeings fail in achieving their goal, and only few succeed. But the other tragedy is that those few who succeed, never disclose the secret of their success.
It has nothing to do with plain hardwork. Hardwork with positive and required state of mind only bring riches. Plain hardwork does not bring riches. 95% of the world population works hard. In reality without hardwork they cannot even earn their bread and butter. But they are not successful. Only 5% people in the society are considered successful .
Hence first do hard work to mould your thoughts and thinking babits, then concentrate on the physical side of hard effort.
